Toast Marshmallows.—AMVETS Post 333 Ceremony, 6:30 PM.—The Most Band, 6PM until after fireworks..—FIREWORKS, at DUSK – Presented by the Atlas PryoVision Productions Co. **Free SHUTTLE BUS, park at the West Dennis Graded Schoolhouse, West Dennis, from 4:30 on, Provided by First Student Inc.

Sat., 8/17—39th Swan River Canoe Race, Registration 11 AM; Race 12 Noon, 5 Lower County Rd., Dennisport. $25 per canoe (includes post race buffet/award ceremony). Sponsored by Swan River Seafood Restaurant – to benefit Hospice of Cape Cod. Rain or Shine. 508-394-4466.

Sat., 8/17—Colonial Open House @ the Josiah Dennis Manse, 10 AM-4 PM, 77 Nobscussett Rd., Dennis. Open hearth cooking, pie-making & spinning. Children�s games and more. Walk through gardens. Refreshments will be served.

Sat., 8/17—Captain’s Yard Sale, 10 AM-2 PM, Baked goods, attic treasures, white elephant, jewelry, linens, raffle and more. Refreshments served, Parish Hall, Congregational Church of So. Dennis, 218 Old Main St., S. Dennis.

Sun., 8/18—ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR, 10 AM-4 PM, NEW LOCATION: at Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School in South Dennis. Artists, Crafters, and Food Vendors (Hot Dogs; hamburgers; Ice Cream; Drinks, and more), Children�s Root Beer Races,and more. 1:30-2:30 Dan McCarthy will be entertaining with his favorite tunes. Plenty of parking in lower lot.

SUN., 8/18 CAPE COD SALTIES – Learn to Fish Day, 10:00am � 3pm at Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School in South Dennis.

Get in on the fun of Fishing. Hands-on instruction and demonstrations covering all aspects of fishing will be going on throughout the day. Learn how to tie a new knot or find out where to catch the big one.

Kids up to twelve can enter the casting contests. A morning contest will run from 11:00 am till Noon and an afternoon contest will run from 1:00 till 2:00.

Prizes will be awarded for both contests.

Professional fly tyer Joe O�Clair will be available to tye a fly or bucktail that you design. Bob Davis will be showing his handmade lures and explaining lure making techniques. Lou MacKeil will be on hand to discuss his time tested techniques. Lou has instructed over 1,000 people through his �Take a Course, Catch a Fish� sessions given throughout the Cape.

Even if you are already an avid angler come out and learn about the Cape Cod Salties Sport Fishing Club from the Salties themselves. Salties are men and women from all over the Cape who enjoy fishing and the fellowship the organization provides.

Sun., 8/18—54th ANTIQUE CAR MOTORCADE and DISPLAY, Starts at West Dennis Beach at 12 Noon, travels through Dennisport, back Upper County Rd., crossing Rte. 134, to Liberty Hall, then right on Old Main St. to Old Chatham Rd. to Route 134 and into the Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School in South Dennis where cars will be on display (approx. 1-3PM). (Pre-register cars with Penny Bach, Motorcade Chairman, 508-760-4524, and receive a Beach Pass)

Sun., 8/11—Sand Sculpture Contest, 6:30-10 AM, Mayflower Beach, Dennis. Rise early to stake out your spot & get your sculpture created. Prizes awarded as tide comes in. (This is the weekend before because of the TIDE.)

Sun., 8/18—White Elephant Sale 10 AM-12 Noon & Lawn Party, 12 Noon – 2 PM, Liberty Hall, S. Dennis.

Sun., 8/18—Summer Fun Days at Jericho Historical Center, 11 AM-2 PM, Costumed guides demonstrate the varied skills needed for life in the 1800s. Children�s games, spinning demonstrations, House, Barn w/Tools, and Driftwood Zoo, 1801 Jericho Historical Center, corner of Old Main St. (#90) & Trotting Pk. Rd. Refreshments will be served.

Sun., 8/18—Open House at the 1867 West Dennis Graded School House, 12 N-4 PM, Special Maritime Exhibit continues “The Bounty of the Seas.” 67 School St., West Dennis, Learn about school life in the 1800s.
